Incinerator for Liquid Waste and Gaseous Waste
Waste Liquid
Designing an incinerator for liquid waste is a bit tricky because we have to know the components of the liquid, its viscosity, calorific value, its size and shape. Depending on all these factors, upstream equipment has to be selected. This means equipment like gear pumps, screw pumps, atomizing nozzles, compressors and so on. The waste feeding line should also be provided with online filters to prevent clogging at the nozzle end.
The decision to use only a pilot burner or a regular burner will depend purely on the calorific value of the waste.
The nozzle is supplied with compressed air to enable atomizing of the waste so that the waste liquid is fully combusted before hitting the hearth of the chamber. Atomizing helps create a fine mist of the liquid waste with the help of air. There are special nozzles made of expensive materials and designed for this purpose. This will help ignition and combustion of the liquid mist very quickly.
Haat has supplied quite a number of incinerators for liquid waste. The wastes include:
· hydrocarbon condensate
· waste oil
· aqueous hazardous liquid waste
· sludge in enzyme manufacturing
· reclaimed waste from CO2 recovery
· ship’s oil waste
· diesel generator waste oil
and Haat’s clients include:
· Tata Hitachi
· Asian Paints (multiple systems)
· IFFCO (2 plants)
· Central Electricity Board, Mauritius
· Ocean Logistics, Vanuatu Island
· Cairn Energy
· DNO, Yemen
In almost all the above cases, the incinerator systems have been functioning very well for many years.
Our models LRD and PDR are working for oil waste and aqueous hazardous waste, whereas model BP-M for hydrocarbon condensate and CO2 recovery plants and model SWR for ship waste.
Thanks to the attention to details given during design and detailed engineering as well as in executing the projects, these systems are continuing to function smoothly with service support from Haat.
Gaseous Waste
There are various types of gaseous wastes that Haat has handled.
The first one is waste gas containing VOCs and HAPs. These are mostly found in large newspaper printing presses, can manufacturing, painting shops, etc.
The second one is waste gas containing HAPs but without enough calorific value to burn by themselves.
The third one is waste gas coming out of digesters from dairy industry. These carry bacteria which have to be killed before cleaner air is released to the atmosphere.
The fourth one is vent gas containing chemicals.
Our Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) is invariably used where the waste gas contains VOCs; Direct Fired Thermal Oxidizer (DFTO) for those gases where the LEL is high and e-oxidizer for the bacteria containing waste gas.
RTO, DFTO and E-Oxidizers have been supplied to many industries. Some of the names are:
· Flexographic printing
· Can manufacturing
· Chemical plants
· Dairy product suppliers
· Heat treatment furnace users
· Waste oil recyclers
· Water treatment
Liquid, solid or gaseous, whatever be the type or nature of the waste, you can rest assured Haat has the expertise and experience.
