We have mentioned in our earlier Blogs and Reference Projects about our SWR range of Marine Incinerators for which we were able, after extended trials and testing, to obtain the MED B+D type certificate from DNV-GL Norway, making the SWR perhaps the only Indian marine incinerator to be type certified as per IMO requirements.
We were surprised to get a communication from a company located in a tiny, remote island nation between Australia and Fiji, called Vanuatu. Located North-East of Australia in the Pacific Ocean, Vanuatu is a vibrant tropical island nation.
The Ni-Vanuatu, the people of Vanuatu, regularly travel from island to island and are heavily dependent on inter-island shipping services for food, fuel and medical supplies and transporting produce to regional markets.
Similarly, companies operating in Vanuatu often require construction materials and equipment shipped throughout the outer islands for development projects. Even things like cattle, lumber and other agricultural products require shipping from the outer islands to the main ports in Luganville and Port Vila.
While talking to the buyer/corresponding with them, we came to know this organisation is a logistics and service provider for the shipping lines and other ocean going ships as well as those that need ferrying and other logistics services in this part of the southern hemisphere.
It appears they took a decision to provide sludge oil waste disposal facilities on shore for the ships traversing that region and accordingly sent out their RFQ to us.
We were able to respond quickly since a particular model SWR was
The incinerator was assembled, all instruments checked and calibrated, fan`s speed, vibration and pressure verified, pumps and burners operated and found to be working very well. The entire incinerator system went through a test run lasting 6 hours to make sure it was working in `Auto` and `Manual` modes without any issue.
This skid-mounted incinerator model has everything mounted on the skid for easy access and portability and can be run in `auto` mode continuously over a fairly long period of time.
The waste incinerator is in the high seas now and is expected to reach Vanuatu this month. It may not require any team to visit the island for commissioning as the O & M manual explains everything. However, we have offered to guide the user thru video calls and complete this task. We are sure the customer will be delighted with the trouble-free performance from the SWR Waste Oil Incinerator.
