New technologies are being implemented in fertilizer plants all over the world and these advanced technologies and innovative modifications are aimed at increasing production capacity, simultaneously reducing energy consumption and environmental footprints.
High purity carbon dioxide (CO2) is a by-product of ammonia production, but it is also a necessary ingredient in the production of urea fertilizer. Therefore, the industry captures CO2 emitted during ammonia production and re-uses it during the urea production process. However fertilizer plants have always had to face the problem of deficiency of CO2 and for this reason a carbon dioxide recovery unit is considered to be the appropriate and right technology to make up for the shortage.
The advanced process is based on absorption of CO2 in amine based solvents which is liberated at high temperatures in the regenerator. SOx or NO2 react with the solution in the CO2 absorber and form heat stable salts and when the salt content in the solution reaches the maximum, the reclaimer is operated to boil down the solution so that the salt is concentrated to sludge to be
The incinerators recommended for this application include BP or PDR models depending on the quantity of waste along with liquid waste disposal system, venturi scrubber, 30-m stack, MCC and PLC panels, local control stations. All the electricals are required to be flameproof because of the presence of gas in the atmosphere. The system is fully automatic and does not require manual intervention.
Haat’s incinerators are working both in India and abroad for this application for the past 15 years. Read a case study here – Reference Project.
“We are happy with Haat’s animal cremator model PD-72, the services provided by them and their prompt responses to all our requirements.” – Zoo Director, Veermata Jijabai Bhosle Udyan & Zoo, Mumbai.
