Controlled Air, Static Hearth Incinerator

An example of this kind of incinerator is shown.

In the incinerator's primary chamber, air flow is adjusted after waste has been fed such that only the air quantity required for burning to take place is available. The incinerator chamber usually operates in sub-stoichiometric conditions and flue gas generated here will have a good heating value for incineration in the secondary chamber.

In the

incinerator's secondary chamber, excess air conditions are maintained to ensure complete combustion.

The hearth is static and this type of incinerator is best suited for wastes which do not require frequent raking or agitation to ensure that they burn properly.
