We won a bid to supply 2 incinerators for biomedical waste incineration from Pune Municipal Corporation. The incinerators were to be used for a common facility being set up at the Kailash Crematorium.
The incinerators were connected to a common chimney and the installation was tested and approved by the Maharashtra State Pollution Control Board as conforming to the emission norms prevalent then.
Subsequently a wet scrubber was added in line with the revised guidelines.
The incinerator was a model PD 12 with a single burner providing heat to the two chambers. The design of this unique model permits repeated recirculation of the flue gases between the two chambers for complete combustion and elimination of pollutants, specifically particulates and is subjected to secondary combustion when it passes
The emission from the stack is odourless and colourless, conforming to Ringleman scale `0`.
The systems were supplied in the year 1997 and were doing duty effectively for a long time. These were the earliest incinerators to be supplied by Haat to a common biomedical waste incineration facility.
Subsequently, we supplied biomedical waste incinerators for common facilities to:
• Shimla Municipal Corporation, H.P.
• Aligarh Nagar Nigam, U.P.
• Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, A.P.
• Rewari Municipality, Haryana
• Nashik Municipal Corporation, Maharashtra.
• Nagpur Municipal Corporation, Maharashtra.
• Port Authority, Mauritius
• Port Harcourt, Nigeria
