Clean, Low Cost (Or No Cost) Incineration

There are incinerators and thermal oxidisers in Haat`s range of products, which can be either self-sustaining or operating at no cost or low cost. We wish to bring out this feature particularly because many buyers are under the impression that incinerators guzzle fuel and hence very expensive to own and operate.

Some of these products are listed below:

1) LD, MD, HD & SD range of Trash Destructors:  A very popular range of FREE BURNING systems that require NO FUEL to operate as it uses the calorific value of the dry waste. Waste applications include paper, packaging materials, card board, wood, confidential drawings and documents, soiled currency, cheques, dry leaves, tobacco, etc.

These trash destructors are used by practically every industry ranging from automobile, fertiliser, space research, packaging, IT, railways, government departments, etc.

The design of this range enables smokeless emission. One cannot tell, without opening the door, if the system is ON or OFF.

The ingenious design permits entry of atmospheric air through designed openings into the combustion chamber, once the dry waste is manually lit. This results in a mild negative pressure in the chamber, which enables outside air entry. Once lit, the system requires only to be charged from time to time with the waste material without letting the flame be extinguished. The smoke that is generated while burning the waste is after-burnt in the upper part of the chamber, which is what gives it the smokeless emission.

2) PMR range of Precious Metal Recovery Furnaces: This range is available in different designs starting from a static hearth to a bogie hearth and a dual hearth. The jewellery and the pharma industries are its main users. Precious yellow and white metals are recovered using this system. No doubt there is a running cost involved in using this, but the increased recovery of the precious metal, due to the design of Haat’s equipment, enables an ROI of the capital cost in just a few months. Many satisfied customers are using the furnace for years and some of them have opted for more systems based on the results obtained.

3) Regenerative Thermal Oxidisers (RTO): A hard working, performance proven, self-sustaining system, it is being used by large printing houses like newspapers and magazines, can manufacturers, etc. very successfully over the past 5 years. The RTO is packed with ceramic honeycomb filters with very fine orifices and these allow the dirty gas to pass through them, while at the same time retaining the heat on the one side and releasing it on the other. The igniter or burner only operates in the starting phase and or when the VOC content in the dirty gas is low, to compensate for the loss of heat value. In this process, fuel is used occasionally which makes the RTO a low cost incineration process.

4) SWR Marine Incinerator: The DNV-GL certified Marine Incinerator, perhaps, the only Indian product of this type to be certified, has a low running cost primarily because waste oil has enough calories to burnt by itself without any auxiliary fuel. Only the use of the secondary burner and/or when solid waste is burnt, will the burner/s be required to operate. This system is in use at Power Stations which produce power using furnace oil or in shore facilities where ships dock to get rid of their waste. The SWR can run continuously 24 x 7, if required and in one installation it has been operating satisfactorily for more than 4 years.

These incinerators in Haat’s range not only perform efficiently and consistently, they also get rid of the unwanted waste material safely without endangering the environment, at the same time helping the users with LOW OR NO RUNNING COSTS.
