Those that serve the nation need the best in everything. The Government has provided the best health care for the armed forces with hospitals in all parts of the country and you will find Haat’s incinerators in many Military Hospitals that treat the wounded and sick soldiers and their families.
The first Haat incinerator that was installed for the Armed Forces hospitals was at Command Hospital Air Force, Bangalore. It was a model PD conforming to the Bio-medical Waste (Handling & Transportation) Rules prevailing in the late `90s. There was a scrubber and 30 metre stack to go with it. The machine performed exceptionally well for the hospital which is one of the largest in the country in terms of number of beds. The destruction efficiency and fuel efficiency of this model incinerator are something that makes the user happy.
This paved the way for many more installations for Defence Hospitals in the country. No doubt all procurement was done through tendering and we were fortunate in many instances to get the bid in our favour both due to quality and price.
Haat’s military hospital incinerator installations cover the entire country, from Trivandrum in the South to Udhampur in the North and Bhuj in the West to Shillong in the East. There are more than 30
The incinerator models are:
• PD
• GD
• BP
• PDR
While the PD and GD models are economical both in terms of initial cost as well as running cost, the BP is a triple chamber design where high turbulence is created for the flue gas in the secondary and tertiary chambers. The PDR meets the current CPCB rules for design and construction of bio-medical waste incinerators with regard to residence time and many other parameters.
The BP and PDR models are supplied invariably with scrubbers and other accessories as required under the present rules and these include:
• A ram loader for automatic waste feeding
• A wet venturi scrubber for air pollution control
• A PLC based control panel for automated operation
• A 30 m stack for flue gases
• Emission monitoring
• Recording and printing of data
We are doing our bit in the cause of those that defend the country.
“The incinerator project included a high level of Quality Assurance, Third Party Inspection and comprehensive documentation which was adhered to.” – HOD (CPP & Utilities), Reliance Industries Limited.
