Bhutan is an isolated country of South Asia in the eastern Himalayan Mountains and contains inaccessible stretches of the Eastern Himalayas in the north. A Buddhist kingdom that has long resisted modernization, this kingdom in central Asia has been disputed by Tibet, China, India, and Britain since the 18th century but most closely connected with India.
The Bhutan Agriculture and Food Regulatory Authority (BAFRA) is the competent authority for Biosecurity, Biosafety & Food Safety and was established in the year 2000 for good husbandry practices and good farm biosecurity practices.
Bhutan has an MOU with India to ensure food exports to Bhutan are safe and wholesome.
A buffer zone in the Indo Bhutan border has check points where livestock coming from India is subject to quarantine and check. The idea is to import clean and safe animals to prevent any infection being carried into Bhutan.
The livestock being imported from India include sheep, goat, poultry and the like. Dead diseased animals need to be incinerated to ensure infection control. Haat has supplied at least 5 x ADR 100 incinerators to BAFRA in the past 3 years for this purpose. In fact, BAFRA bought 3 incinerators at first and were
The ADR is designed for such animal waste as generated in the Indo Bhutan border and is ideally suited for the application.
The advantages of using the ADR are as follows:
• It is skid-mounted with the incinerator, control panel and diesel tank, all mounted together in one place making it easily portable
• It requires no foundation separate at site, only a level surface
• It is fitted with the necessary instruments, gauges, piping and pre-wired in our shop and hence no major installation work is required at site
• It only needs fuel to be filled and power given to the panel board to make it ready for use.
• It is very user-friendly in that waste of the rated capacity can be loaded at one time without frequently charging it to the incinerator
• It is economical to operate
• No special training is required to run the system
No wonder, therefore, BAFRA, being satisfied with the Haat incinerator model ADR, repeated their orders.
Our local Associate provides the service as and when required.
We look forward to working with BAFRA on a continuing basis.
