Incinerator for a Perfume Manufacturer

There is a well-known perfumery product manufacturing company in the temple town of Kumbakonam, South India.  They came to us with a requirement for an incinerator to dispose of non-hazardous wastes such as dry leaves, packaging wastes, wood off-cuts, paper, product labels, etc. which were to be incinerated.  The reason for this is to prevent misuse of rejected labels and confidential documents.  Also the amount of dry leaves accumulating in their factory premises was making things difficult for their operations.

Representatives from this company visited our plant to discuss this requirement and finalized Haat’s model HD-30 trash destructor.  There were some doubts in their minds as to whether the trash destructor will do the job.

We showed them a demo with one of our trash destructors in stock and they were satisfied with the non-smoking, non-polluting performance.

We also told them that this was not an incinerator.  An incinerator is generally a multi-chamber system equipped with gas or diesel burners, which produce sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, etc. which need to be treated properly before emission to the atmosphere.  The working temperature of these incinerators will range from 850 to 1100°C.

On the other hand, models LD, MD, HD, etc. are free burning trash destructors, which do not use any fuel, but are lit manually and aided by atmospheric air, reduce dry wastes to a fine ash.  The temperature inside is around 400 to 500
°C and the smoke produced during burning is also burnt a second time in the trash destructor, leaving only colourless gases out, which is harmless.

The trash destructor is suitable for wastes such as paper, cardboard, dry leaves, grass, wood off cuts, etc. whereas the incinerator is used for wastes like bio-medical and hazardous.  For the above reason, in countries like the U.K., trash destructors are permitted to be used under the UK Clean Air Act.

This assurance combined with the demo, convinced them to order a model HD 30 trash destructor.  It was after a few months they came back to us with another requirement.  This time it was for a shredder for shredding unwanted documents, folders and files and bundles which needed to be destroyed.  We suggested a shredder which they procured.

They are using both these products for the past few years and are quite happy with the results they got which include safe disposal of the waste, waste volume reduction, space availability and no complaint from neighbours regarding smoke or smell.

The manufacturing unit of this company is in the middle of the town and it is working very well.

This is one more instance of a non-standard application for which Haat Incinerators have supplied a solution.
