Hog Incinerator

Piggery waste is the one of the difficult types among animal wastes. Industries in the field of pig production are growing with the increasing demand for pork meat and hence the problem of waste management in piggeries has become very critical. This applies primarily to the liquid and solid waste generated here.

The primary problem is the safe disposal of dead pigs/carcasses in pig farms.  It is essential for the health of the farm that sick/infected pigs are incinerated properly to sterile ash.

When the pig is slaughtered, all parts of the pig (meat, fat, bones, skin, legs, hooves, tail and blood) are all used to create hams and sausages, bacon, cracklings, and other products. It is a lot of work that requires many hands. Nothing goes to waste, which is where the Andalusian saying "the only thing you cannot eat of a pig, is its squeak" comes from.

One disposal option for the dead animal is burial, but the land getting filled with this waste has already become saturated with Nitrogen and Phosphorous in many countries.

Incorrect disposal methods for the carcass will impact not only animal and human health but also the environment. Poor carcass disposal can lead to soil and water contamination.  Proximity to poorly disposed carcasses can also cause spreading of disease through scavengers, mosquitoes and vermin.

It is important, therefore, that carcass disposal should happen as soon as possible after the animal is dead. The safety of the other stock, the environment and the community at large is important, for which careful planning and management of disposal is important to minimise the risk of disease spread.  Animal owners and managers have a legal responsibility to ensure that disposal of carcasses does not adversely affect the environment.

Animal carcass incineration is a biologically safe method of animal waste disposal and it also eliminates the threat of disease. Disposing of the resulting residual ash does not cause water quality problems.

Haat’s ACR as well as ADR model incinerators can be used for incinerating dead pigs; while the ACR is used for more than one pig at a time, especially the big ones, the ADR can be used for a single pig at a time.  The advantage in the ACR model is its superior ability to handle the carcass as well as fat that is produced when it is being incinerated.

Please look up Haat’s Animal Cremator / Incinerator & Incinerator Model ADR for more information on these models along with accessories that can be added.
