Incinerator for Egg Shells
There was an enquiry from a cake manufacturer for an incinerator for the disposal of egg shells.
Eggs are used in the making of cakes. Eggs play an important role for making anything from cakes, cookies, pastries and the like because they give structure and stability to the batter and help strengthen and emulsify sauces and custards. They provide moisture to the cakes and also act as glue. They are required to coagulate and create a firm base and add volume. Eggs also are used in making breads and muffins.
This is fine, but this company had a problem of what to do with a huge mountain of egg shells that do not decompose easily. As a matter of interest, in some instances when it is buried underground, it was dug-up after 3 years and showed no evidence of decomposition.
The cake manufacturer had a big problem on hand. Being a reputed company, he certainly didn’t want any egg on his face when it came to dealing with environmental problems.
In this instance we offered our BP model incinerator, which was accepted by the client after he witnessed a demonstration at our Works on how the egg shells were reduced to a fine white ash to the extent of 5 – 7.5% of the original volume during incineration.
The BP model incinerator was chosen particularly because of its special design. It is of a retort type design with 3 chambers, primary, secondary and tertiary. This enables complete destruction of not only the solid waste, but also the smoke and odour.
The client was very happy with the result he saw. The machine was made, supplied and installed on time. The next time our service engineer went there for a warranty visit, there was no sign of the eggshell hill which was earlier occupying a large portion of the land.
No doubt, the client was very happy with the results he got as the worrisome problem of waste accumulation became a thing of the past!
Many other companies followed suit, taking the cue from this client`s experience and we were only too happy to deliver our “Engineered solutions for the clients` Burning Problems”
