Haat`s Incinerators for the Armed Forces

It was in the year 2000 that the first Haat incinerator was procured for use by the Armed Forces and Defence establishments. The user was Command Hospital Air Force, Bangalore.  This is a multi-speciality hospital with very large bed strength and is regarded as one of the best healthcare providers.  Equipped with advanced medical equipment and technologies, it has been constantly achieving milestones in the medical field. The establishment enjoys a good connectivity with the rest of the city because of its prominent location.

We invited them to see a demo of our system operating within our premises and some senior staff from the hospital visited us and apprised themselves of the design, operation and maintenance of our PD model incinerator.  Subsequently an RFQ was received from the MES department and our model PD6 with scrubber and 30 metre chimney was chosen for installation. The machine worked very well for a long time and this installation paved the way for many more installations in the Defence hospitals and other establishments. The list is quite impressive because of the number and it covers Army, Navy and Airforce stations, apart from border areas and weapons establishments.

We had to take part in every bid and be competitive to win the bid. In almost all cases, the contract included civil work, for which we had to mobilise labour, materials, etc. locally. This was an arduous job because the work had to be as per specifications and we could not afford to make any mistake or change the specification. The labour force had to be reliable and experienced but still required our constant supervision. The work also included installation for which material handling equipment had to be hired locally.

We are happy we completed supply and installation of incinerators for bio-medical waste in several Military Hospitals / Defence Establishments from Ambala to Ahmednagar, Belgaum to Bhuj, Car Nicobar to Cochin, Faizabad and Ferozpur, Jalandhar and Jamnagar, Kharki and Khadakwasla, Port Blair and Pulgaon, Samba and Shillong, Varani and Vizag and other places.

The most challenging locations were from Leh Ladakh, Car Nicobar, Shillong and Vizag due to various site related conditions.

We are happy many of the installations are still working and we continue to provide spares and service to them.
