Bio-medical Waste Incinerator for a Large Missionary Medical College and Hospital

We supplied an incinerator for biomedical waste to a large hospital in Kerala some time ago but its installation was delayed due to some issues regarding its location, etc. When the installation was taken up, we found, to our horror, rain water had entered some of the items, Kerala being known for its heavy rains. This called for quite some repair, rectification and replacements at our cost, although by that time the warranty for the equipment was already over.

The incineration system configuration was a twin primary chamber with auto loaders, followed by secondary, venturi scrubber, stack, PLC panel, emission monitoring system, etc.

At the time of commissioning, there were some niggles caused mainly by the problems during storage of the equipment. This required some more repairs and replacements which were done. All this time, our commissioning team was travelling back and forth between Karnataka and Kerala several times.

The customer wanted to see the incinerator plant run in `auto` mode continuously at least for a week without stoppage, before he could say he was satisfied. Meanwhile, the PLC programme got corrupted, requiring re-programming, necessitating a PLC engineer visit and stay.

Finally everything was sorted out and the incinerator plant was run continuously for 9 days in auto mode without any glitch to the entire satisfaction of the client and his staff.

Just goes to show that it does not matter if the warranty is over, it does not matter if it was pouring cats and dogs in God`s own Country, it does not matter in whose scope the work was, IT HAD TO BE DONE, in the interest of TOTAL CUSTOMER SATISFACTION.
