Incineration of Hazardous & Other Wastes in Our Common Incineration Facility

At our common facility, we handle many types of hazardous wastes for which we are authorized by the regulatory authority. These include:

             Oil residues and sludge

             Wastes and residues containing oil

               sludge

             Distillation residue

             Paint residue

             Adhesive residues

             Filters with organic liquid

             Contaminated organic solids

             Spent carbon

             Discarded/expired medicines and

               drugs

             Discarded containers

These hazardous wastes are incinerated in our CPCB compliant incinerator which is equipped with top-end flue gas scrubbing system. This equipment configuration gives out emissions which are well within the CPCB guidelines and the stack produces virtually no visible smoke. There is also a Continuous Emission Monitoring System linked to the CPCB portal, feeding regular outputs of emission values.

This facility attracts many intending buyers of incinerators to see for themselves the configuration and quality of the incinerator system and upkeep of the plant.  This gives them the confidence about what to expect from us when an incinerator contract is placed on Haat.

These hazardous wastes are collected by our own transport from various customers in the State of Karnataka. The client list is long and includes automobile manufacturers, pharma companies, auto ancillaries, textile, information technology companies, refineries, petrochemical, manufacturing companies etc.

What came as a surprise was when an unusual client approached us. It was the airport customs authorities and they wanted to know if we can help them to dispose of confiscated drones. We were wondering why incinerate good drones which are used by kids as toys. They said drones beyond a certain range are not allowed to be imported and are necessarily confiscated and disposed by incineration. The other case was from the Enforcement authorities, who caught contraband cigarettes of a substantial quantity. Both these goods were incinerated in their presence and recorded to prevent misuse by anyone.

There are also other unusual wastes like rejected biscuits, product labels, expired vanilla powder, question papers, etc.

We are happy that government authorities choose Haat for handling the disposal of the contraband because of the confidence they have that these will be disposed of properly without giving room for any complaint.
