The Painting of an Incinerator

-        How is an incinerator painted?

-        What is its purpose?

-        How long will it last?

These are some of the questions an intending buyer might have in mind, apart from other basic things required of an incinerator. We will try to answer these questions in this blog.

They say a coat of paint results in the complete transformation of an incinerator from being a semi-finished one to a completely finished and ready-to-use machine. Painting adds elegance and look to a well-designed machine. On the other hand, one might ask `would you buy an unfinished or dirty looking machine?` Painting definitely adds look and value to the product and makes it impressive and attractive.

However, the main purpose of painting is to prevent damage to the incinerator body from atmospheric vagaries like rain and shine and to give long life to the equiment.

How is it painted?

It has to be painted in such a way that:

a) it has sufficient paint thickness to provide a long life.

b) the surface has to be prepared properly to give purchase to the paint and to increase the surface area.

c) in the process of painting, there should not be any environmental concerns, which means it has to be done in a controlled atmosphere with  filters and heating arrangement.

How long will it last?

Haat`s incinerators painted at our shops, have lasted more than 10 years. We are saying this without any exaggeration because of the procedure that is followed by us religiously, viz:

a) good surface blasting providing a SA 2½ depth to increase surface area with undulations.

b) selection of the right grade of primer and final coat paints based on working conditions.

b) required primer, intermediate and final coats of sufficient thickness which guarantee a long paint life.

d) the blasting and painting operations being carried out by experienced technicians.

An old Chinese proverb states `A picture is worth a thousand words` and we at Haat say ` A well-painted Haat incinerator is worth more than its price!’
