The Indo-Russian Incinerator Connection

We received a contract from a USAID service provider for supply of three incinerators to Afghanistan for burning medical waste, food waste and garbage near Kandahar airport. This order was finalized after their representative in Afghanistan visited one of our installations in New Delhi and satisfied himself.

One of our Directors was planning to visit USA and in particular Boston, which was the headquarters of this contractor to find out if Haat can be of help in any other projects of USAID in the world. The person who was responsible for incinerator projects turned out to be a lady, that too a Russian.

We were wondering how to break the ice when, surprisingly, she volunteered some information about herself. She said “When I was small, I used to stand in line with other boys and girls to buy tickets for a Raj Kapoor movie”. This certainly broke the ice and we were able to discuss more things Indian.  She liked things Indian, including Haat’s Incinerators!

We got contacts, thru this client, to supply to other UN projects in the world, such as Chad, Ivory Coast, etc.

Simultaneously we executed an order for an incinerator from Georgia of the former Soviet Union.

There is thus a definite connection and rapport between Haat and Russia!
