Incinerator for flares and pyrotechnics

A flare also called sometimes a fusée, is a type of pyrotechnic that produces a bright light or intense heat without an explosion.  These flares are used for distress signalling, illumination or counter measures in military operations or by seafarers.  Flares are a well-recognised international distress signal designed to draw attention to emergency situations.

At the same time, it is illegal to intentionally communicate a false distress message to the coastguard especially when there is no need for help to save any lives.

The flares have a life span of three years and have to be replaced before expiry.  Once the date of expiry is over, they need to be disposed of properly to avoid misuse on the one hand and failure of the flare in times of distress, on the other.

There are a few companies responsible for making flares, storing them and distributing them to various users.  They are also responsible for the proper disposal of expired flares.

We had a visit, some time back, from one such organisation who wanted to dispose of these flares in a controlled incinerator system.  We did a trial incineration in front of the customer using our model AMR ammunition and pyrotechnic incinerator system.  The trial went on for about an hour.  It went well and the result of ash and unburnt metal were found to be in accordance with their requirements.

Satisfied with the trial, the client placed their order for an incinerator machine for this application.  The AMR incinerator was selected with adequate volumetric capacity in the primary and secondary chambers to cater to the heat and fume release from the pyrotechnics.

We are happy once again to be able to offer a Haat Incinerator for a not-so-common application!!!
