The Effect of Incinerators on Flora and Fauna
The term ‘Flora’ relates to all plant life and ‘Fauna’ represents all animal life. Flora in Latin means ‘Goddess of the Flower’. Fauna cannot prepare their own food, so they depend on the flora for their living.
In Haat Incinerators’ facility in Bengaluru, we have plenty of flora and fauna. We have a large variety of plants and flowers which include peepal, teakwood, silver oak, ashoka, neem, drumstick, gooseberry, coconut, jack fruit, avocado, snake fruit, jamun, mango, lemon, papaya and orange. Flowers like rose, jasmine, sampangi, lily, hibiscus, geranium, canna, mirabilli, kanagale, bougain villea, multiflora rose, philippine violet and crotons. There are also herbs like betel, stonebreaker, keelanelli , malabar nut, tulsi, parimala tulsi, omavalli, spurflowers, amritavalli, aloe vera and lemon grass.
All fruit bearing trees give plenty of output every year, particularly jackfruit, alphonso mango, banana, gooseberry, pomegranate, sapota, guava and orange.
The snake fruit is a growing sapling and this has come from the Bali Island in Indonesia. We thought initially this may not survive in Bengaluru, but surprisingly in this weather it is growing taller every day. There are two jackfruit trees which give out luscious fruits and two avocado trees producing fruits the size of coconut. This is very good for the heart.
Peepal trees release more oxygen than any other plant. This is why it finds a prominent place such as temples where people gather.
As far as fauna is concerned, plants and flora attract many different kinds of animals and birds. Armies of monkeys invade us from time to time to splurge on the coconuts, mangos and jackfruits. In addition, we get plenty of visits from parrots, red whiskered bulbuls, koels, sparrows, mynas and bees. We have a very large beehive with a million+ worker bees.
We let the animals and birds enjoy the fruits and use what is available after they fill their stomach. However, we do not disturb the bees or take their hard earned honey.
There is a significance to the flora and fauna in Haat. As one might know, we not only make incinerators, but also run a common hazardous waste incinerator facility with emissions conforming to Euro norms.
The fact that these flora have remained healthy and are continuing to grow along with the abundance of fauna is indicative of the safe atmosphere prevailing in the premises.
We are happy with the residents and visitors to our factory and welcome more of them in the future!!!
