We established our quality management system as per ISO 9001 in the organisation way back in 1999.

This was followed by ISO 14001 for our Environmental Management System and ISO 45001 (earlier OHSAS 18001) for our Occupational Health and Safety Management System in 2008.  We are proud to say that our employees have taken to heart the purpose behind these certifications and have made sure that these are part and parcel of their daily routine and does not remain as a mere piece of paper.

A lot of time has passed since our initial tryst with these ISO certifications.  We designed, developed and built Marine Incinerators under MARPOL regulations for use on board ships under the Government’s `Make in India’ initiative.

Although these conform to the required regulations, we still needed to conduct various performance tests and get the incinerator type-certified by a reputed agency.  This took a while, but eventually DNV Norway issued the certificate.  We have just completed testing of 2 sets of Marine Incinerators witnessed by Indian Register of Shipping who will approve the units shortly.

Even though we have the type certificate, it is still a requirement of the Indian Navy that we go through the Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA) and satisfy them with the quality of the system, as they are the government agency to qualify equipment used on board ships of the Indian Navy.  An elaborate quality audit was conducted by them at our factory before a registration certificate was issued.

It is now routine matter of producing quality marine incinerators and supply to various shipyards, replacing European brands.

These machines are being used not only in Coastguard ships but also on Frigates and the quality and performance are appreciated by the end users.

In the year 2023 we received Export Excellence Award from the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FKCCI) for good performance in exports contributing to more than 60% of our sales.  In the current year EEPC (Engineering Export Promotion Council of India), which is an arm of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, has chosen Haat for award of Certificate of Appreciation for Quality.  This is definitely a feather on our cap and is a recognition of the quality of our equipment supplied within the country as well as world over. This is indeed a creditable achievement, considering the contestant industries are from all over India and there were in all only 15 winners!

The award function was held in Coimbatore in March 2024 and was well attended by Industry representatives from all over India and delegates from abroad.

These kind of recognitions makes us feel more resolute in our belief that there will be no compromise on quality.
