Incinerator Projects for EPC Companies

Haat has executed several projects through many EPC contractors throughout the world.  The names include Hyundai Heavy Industries, Petrofac, Tehran Afra, L&T, Shapoorji Pallonji and others.  The projects have been executed both in India and abroad.

Hyundai Heavy Industries contract was for installation in Myanmar; Petrofac for Gazprom, Iraq; Tehran Afra / Inpex Japan for NIOCL, Iran and L&T  for Cairn Energy, Shapoorji Pallonji for SABIC, to name a few.

Haat has had the fortune of taking up these contracts through these major EPC companies.  Some highlights of such contracts are:

1.      The contracts taken up by these EPC companies are very large, of which the incinerator package forms only a small part.  There is no possibility for the end user to place the order separately for the incinerator alone on the manufacturer and neither the incinerator manufacturer can venture into taking up a huge contract including civil works, roads, etc. which are not his forte.

2.      Even though the order is placed by the contractor, it is the responsibility of the incinerator manufacturer to satisfy the end user in terms of specifications, quality and performance. This makes it obligatory for the incinerator manufacturer to strictly comply with the quality of the system supplied, even if the cost exceeds his budget.

3.      It is prestigious to do projects through global EPC companies because once they are satisfied with the quality and delivery of the system supplied, there will be repeat business from them for other global contracts.

There are several instances where Haat has obtained repeat businesses from some of these EPC companies.

The project we have taken up recently has come from one such global EPC company who has perhaps the reputation of being one of the biggest in the business.  They kept their faith with Haat Incinerators by ordering two large equipment of 250 kg/h capacity.  This is a repeat order from this company.  The equipment has to be containerized with auto-loader mechanism and a PLC controlled panel.  As mentioned earlier, the major requirement of taking up this project of this nature is that we have to meet the expectations of the contracting company as well as the customer in all aspects.

For example:

1.      The raw materials procured such as steel should have clear traceability between the heat number and test certificate without which we cannot proceed with the fabrication.

2.      Once fabrication is completed, blasting and painting is taken up.  This has to be witnessed fully by a NACE Level II qualified inspector who will certify the depth of blasting and thickness of coating as well as absence of voids.

3.      The mechanical run test during the factory acceptance test is performed in front of the client or third party inspection agency and only after inspection, clearance for dispatch is given.

What really happens during these times is that we raise our capabilities wherever required to meet these challenges which gives confidence to the inspecting agency, EPC company and end user in terms of our ability not to compromise on quality aspects and to deliver on time.  This is the reason why repeat projects have come to us through these reputed EPC companies from all over the world.

The sequence of importance is Quality, Delivery and finally, only finally, Price!
