A Conducive Environment in an Environmental Engineering Organization

We not only make incinerators; we support and provide a green environment too.

We have many plants and flowers in our premises about which we wrote sometime back.  In this blog, we talk about our fruit bearing plants.

1.                 Coconut:  There are at least 8 coconut trees producing tender and ripe coconuts for the consumption of humans as well as their tailed ancestors who frequent our factory in search of food.

2.                 Mango:  We have local mango as well as Alfonso.   There are three trees producing juicy mangos, but in alternate years.

3.                 Pomegranate:  There is a single pomegranate tree producing this delicious fruit.

4.                 Avocado:  There are 2 tall avocado trees which produce in alternate years 100’s of avocados.  These avocados match the coconut in size and these are good for the heart.

5.                 Sapota: There is one plant producing sapota.

6.                 Guava: There is a plant producing guava.

7.                 Jamun:  There is a very big tree producing quite a large quantity of this fruit, which is considered very good for diabetes.

8.                 Gooseberry:  There is a gooseberry tree producing small gooseberries which are more sweet than sour.  One can see bunches of gooseberries growing on this tree.

9.                 Orange:  We have quite surprisingly found a tree producing oranges.  We do not know where it came from.

10.              Snake fruit:  Many of you may not know there is a fruit called snake fruit.  It is brownish in colour with scales similar to one finds on snakes.  When you remove outer skin, the inside is cream colour and has the shape of a snake’s hood.  The fruit is quite delicious.  This exotic food is found in Bali, Indonesia.  We planted it sometime back.  We are not sure if it will grow in Bangalore’s climate, but we are very happy that this plant is growing and let us hope it will give us fruits in quick time.

11.              Jackfruit:  Northerners in India use jackfruit as a vegetable before it ripens, whereas people in the south use it more as a fruit than a vegetable.  We have two jackfruit trees, one gives less sweet fruits and the other extremely sweet and delicious fruits.  At the moment, there are at least 6 0 to 70 jackfruits in various sizes on this tree. It is believed and rightly so that the fruit growing on the tree’s trunk is sweeter and we have more than half the fruits on the trunk!

12.              Banana: There are 3 banana trees producing bunches of fruits. As one might know, this plant gives everything for human use; the unripe and ripe fruit, the banana flower and its stem. All these are consumed and these are good for health. The leaf is used in south India as a disposable plate.

So we have got a big collection of fruits and many of them are good for health and we share it with other creatures for whom these are originally meant for.

There are other trees like peepal, teakwood, silver oak and a few others.

We just wanted to say that the atmosphere in our factory where we produce incinerators as well as run a hazardous waste incinerator plant is in fact very conducive for all kinds of plants to grow and provide nutritious fruits.
