COVID-19 & Incineration

Let us just look at the by-product of Covid-19.  These are mainly PPE consisting of face masks, hand gloves, tissues and the like.  As everyone knows that these PPE used by an infected person can transfer infection to others whether it is human beings or animals, if discarded improperly.

As we mentioned in one of the earlier blogs, the quantity of these PPE accumulated every day in Wuhan was 200 tons.  We have not yet come to that stage, but we could also be in the same situation if we do not decide to dispose of these infection carrying materials properly.

While we look after and protect ourselves which is our right, we have a duty to others by ensuring proper disposal of these materials.

What options do we have?

1.                We can simply throw them.

2.                We can put them in the garbage and it can make garbage handlers come in contact with them. The animals that roam around garbage dumps and landfills can also come in contact with these.

Do we want this?

We do not want another scare.  Therefore the only option left for disposing of these PPE is by incineration.

An incinerator is the system that is the need of today by every hospital, every establishment which generates considerable quantity of these PPE.
