Incinerator for Atomic Energy Establishments

Atomic Energy Establishments and Agencies produce many different kinds of wastes including combustible solid wastes such as PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), gloves, cotton, etc.  These can be contaminated and need to be incinerated in a highly special incinerator with extensive flue gas treatment.

There could also be liquid radioactive wastes or scales/chips from equipment

carrying radioactive material.  All of these require appropriate equipment and detailed process engineering to ensure these are incinerated effectively with no chance of leakage.

These incinerators are usually designed based on the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) safety series 108 for ‘Design and Operation of Radioactive Waste Incineration Facilities’.
